Twitter Campaign #virtualinterview Aims To Promote Different Interview Mediums

Twitter Campaign #virtualinterview Aims To Promote Different Interview Mediums In this day and age, small and big companies are still acting un-cool by following the age-old interview mediums of phone and then face-to-face. Some might argue it works. Yes it does! But there are cases when an interviewee has to shell out £120 + just for an interview! #virtualinterview Now, Think Big Youth and Roar Academy have launched a Twitter campaign #virtualinterview to help bring to light the fact that some interviewees are being left out because they cant afford travelling. I could never afford travelling to London for interviews, unless I was sure I would be reimbursed. But, here is the story . North East Youth Worker looking to relocate to London for January 2013. Will have a place to live immediately, as long as employment is secured. Dynamic, enterprising, innovative, professional, passionate and raring to go with a new venture working with young people! 7 years worth of substantial background working for voluntary/statutory and third sector organisations delivering youth engagement initiatives. Management experience, national reach projects, developing policy and youth-led social action projects. Sound like the perfect candidate…? Great! Can we negotiate with interview style it would be really appreciated if you would consider a video interview initially? It’s awfully expensive travelling to London, and a struggle getting a full day off work. It would save on reimbursement costs. ANOTHER DOOR SHUT. This is what the Co-founder of the #virtualcampaign has dealt with. I wonder why businesses do not move on from age-old practices and cater to the modern-world graduate? These are the best, or worst (depending how you look at it) responses that the Co-founder of #virtualinterview has had: We don’t have the resources to be able to offer Video interviewing (fair enough) We can’t offer that style of interview- face to face only Best ever: We feel it would be unfair….. (to whom?!?) #Virtualinterview campaign is brought to you by  @roaracademy   and @thinkbigyouth. In the video below, Ebuni Ajiduah founder of Think Big Youth, shares why and how this campaign was born. You can read the whole story about #virtual campaign on this facebook blog note.
